Bigtime Lighting Design LLC is a production design collective with an emphasis in concert touring production. In addition to Production Design, Bigtime offers control packages to facilitate operation of our designs including Grand MA 2 and 3 lighting consoles and various media servers and cameras.
Principle Designer Eric Cathcart has been involved in concert production nearly thirty years. After working with some of the best production companies there are since 1992, Eric decided it was time to venture out on his own to focus solely on Lighting and Production Design. When asked to design and tour with Olivia Newton-John in 2006, the desire to focus on the house end of the snake was cemented.
Contributing Designer Michael John Grant has been working with Bigtime Lighting Design since 2012. Our first collaboration was the ‘B’ rig for The Black Keys’ “El Camino” Tour. Since then Mike has been a regular collaborator, partner and lead on various designs. Michael began his production career as the house lighting director at a substantial venue in Chicago, IL in 2006
Contributing Designer David Garcia began working with Bigtime Lighting Design while working for a local Kansas City Production Company. After touring as a tech and crew chief on major tours such as Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave’s first foray into the design world with Bigtime Lighting Design was manning the helm on The Darkness’ 2014 “Blast Of Our Kind” tour.

Bigtime Lighting Design offers several selections of lighting consoles from both the MA Lighting Grand MA 2 series as well as the latest Grand MA 3 series.
In addition to lighting consoles we offer a wide variety of video media servers running a number of software options, and discrete cameras that can be placed around the stage for a variety of camera angles. All of our media servers are custom configured for each production and feature the latest CPU and GPU processing speeds and hardware.
